The Sempre Libera Project is a collaborative effort of a group of singers aiming to create performance opportunities to practice their craft, share their love of classical music with audiences while growing as musicians.

The Project was founded by Christa Lazar, Monica Kovacs, Sonia Stillo and Veronica Testa. While the four founding members are the core/permanent singers, the project includes various guest artists and musicians to enhance the caliber of our performances. We also offer performance opportunities in some of our recitals to our advanced students.

Background

The name of the project was inspired by Violetta’s aria “Sempre Libera” from the famous Verdi opera “La Traviata”, and it means “always free (woman)”.  This freedom refers to the freedom of expression of who we are as women and female performers.
